Here are the PRELIMINARY scores. As you will see, there are a few that are SUPER CLOSE. And a stat change could sway it EITHER WAY. So before the texting storm happens...ask Schmabby and Chuck what stat changes can do.
With that said, here is the update.

It appears that Bruce is going to run away with the regular season title, barring anything catastrophic. So the real action lies in playoff spots and positioning. We've got some LOGJAMMIN' going on between 2nd and 4th, but thanks to The Sources' upset win over Peter we don't have 3 teams at 6-3...fuck you very much sarge!!
ReplyDeleteGAME OF THE WEEK: Chuck vs Peter- Chuck took the week 3 matchup between the longtime rivals giving this game huge implications for the stretch run. Chuck continues to play well, somehow, despite Tom Brady coming back down to earth. Despite no production from CJ2K, Peter's offense has been strong and consistent, it's his defense that has been poor. I would say awful, but his defense did clinch a tight victory against Willie. A win vs Chuck and The Sarge upset is forgotten, a loss and Peter finds his season at a crossroads.
Schmabby appears to be the GFFL version of the Philadelphia Eagles.
ReplyDeleteAs I am awaiting the arrival of the repairman for both my oven AND washing machine I find myself in a reflective mood over the first half plus of a phenomenal GFFL season thus far...
ReplyDeleteMVP (thus far): LeSean McCoy- Bruce's decision to protect McCoy rates as the best personnel move up to this point. McCoy has rewarded him with top rate fantasy numbers and has been the best player on the league's best team.
Honorable mention: a couple guys jump to mind, AP for one, #12 as well, but Fred Jackson has been a revelation for Tim who curently sits at #2. But I believe the MVP almost always comes from the best team, with very few exceptions.
Most Disappointing: is there any doubt on this one?? I moved heaven and earth to grab Chris Johnson and up to this point I may as well have Joseph Addai. CJ has as many TD's as Steve fucking Slaton and has rushed for a game high of...64yds?! This from a guy who is young, never suffered a serious injury, and holds the NFL record for yds from scrimmage on top of being one of 5 guys EVER to rush for 2000yds in a season. WTF??!!
Most disappointing team: despite being incredibly disappointed with the defending champs decision to pack it in for the season it has to be Schmabby. I have applauded his drafting and roster all season long, and still expect him to be in this until the end, yet I cannot ignore a 3-6 record and 6th place. I know Andre Johnson has been hurt but his offense is absolutely loaded. Defense has been his achilles heel but he has so much talent. He has a tough road to hoe but he still has a chance to get in the playoffs or, at the very least, ruin some other teams playoff dreams.
The overachiever award: Chuck...what the fuck?! Smoke and mirrors? Deal with the devil?? How is Chuck doing it??!! He traded away his best player, Brady has been quiet( which sucks since I play him this week and Brady and the Pats are due) yet Chuck keeps winning and has actually gotten better. He is middle of the road statwise across the board but keeps kicking ass. In classic Chuck fashion, it's substance over style. He's not sexy, he's just winning.
