  2. Without further adieu...IT'S PLAYOFF TIME!!! 3 new competitors this year, Chuck competed last year, including Tim who is making his first ever appearance, congrats and I hope it's a short lived experience for ya buddy! Jackelen is back after a one year hiatus and we dusted Domask off the shelves and brought him back to the playoffs. So will Tim take home the title in his first playoffs? Will Chuck or Peter solidify themselves as the alltime great in their drive for five?? Or will Bruce finally win that elusive first with his greatest team ever?? One way or the other the GFFL will have a new champ for the third year in a row...how's that for parity?! So how did these four make it through this ultra competitive season you ask??

Joe D: simply put, Joe had the best depth and from his protected players to drafting to his waiver claims and trades, every move he made was gold. His superior defense and the aforementioned depth carried him through a rough patch of injuries and he didnt miss a beat. Joe avoided the dreaded losing streak of any kind and held a firm grip on the #1 spot for a couple weeks now. He is a prohibitive favorite to win his first ever title. Quite frankly, he must. It is hard to win the title in this league and when everything lines up for you, youve gotta bring it home. As I assess the other teams I see weaknesses, but I truly can't find one for Joe.

Peter: one word-consistent. The #2 seed also avoided losing 2 or more in a row and got red hot when the playoff positioning began. Peter held his destiny in his own hands as weeks 10-13 saw him face, and defeat, the men battling him for playoff spots and positioning. He seized home field behind a red hot combo of CJ2K and Eli Manning, and eagerly awaits word on the great AP and his status. His defense has been poor to average, with INT's very hard to come by, but they did come up in spots down the stretch. A strong #2 but weak on D and could be weaker if James Harrison is suspended as expected.

Tim: he also made a number of strong moves and has a defense capable of pure domination, which could make him the biggest threat to Joe D. HOWEVER, Tim is banged up and will start the playoffs with no Greg Jennings or Fred Jackson, along with issues at QB. This is still a great team, with playmakers galore on both sides of the ball, so by no means dismiss him. QB is really his only vulnerable point, as his other areas of concern still have plenty of talent.

Chuck: he comes in hot and ready for an upset! Helu, Greene and Bush ( thats right Reggie Bush is fantasy relevant) are playing awfully well and have shored up Chuck's major weakness. Brady is a lock for 21 pts, Jimmy Graham has been a dynamo and his defense is solid and could get a boost if LaMarr Woodley gets healthy. With that being said, Joe D and minus 3 is a tough spot to be. This is not unfamiliar territory for Chuck though. Back in '09 Chuck faced a 12-2 #1 seed minus 3 and absolutlely blew up in one of the GFFL's alltime great playoff games. Chuck stopped my shot at a threepeat with a two pt win that came down to a MNF game and one Osi Umenyiora sack.

Point being, tough sledding ahead for us all but anything is possible. Should be fun and competitive and there will be NO SCORING DELAYS!!!!! Playoffs kick off tomm night with Jax @ Atl. Tims ace, MJD, gets things rolling right of the dribble!

  3. And now we answer what went wrong

Bj- losing Jamaal Charles early on definitely set the tone for what would be a long season. Bj made moves both for the present and future but by my estimation he about breaks even. He dealt with more serious and lengthy injuries than most and just didn't have the offensive firepower to accomplish much. Roddy White failed him as the #5 pick in our draft. Forte is a free agent and Charles coming off an ACL leaves many questions for the future of this proud franchise.

Willie- at one point the defending champ had the #1 fantasy RB,QB and WR. He beat me in week one and almost swept me by taking away an astonishing 50 pts on defense in week 8! Losing Kenny Britt hurt and Megatron slowed down after Willie got him, but the McFadden injury derailed his efforts to the point of raising the "white flag" of surrender. Once he traded away Gore the jig was up. Willie also declined to use 3/4 available waiver claims. He will have nice protected options available to him for next year.

Schmabby- I have spent more time looking at his season than any other, outside of my own, and am still stunned he didn't even make the playoffs. He most certainly missed Andre Johnson and his defense was poor but offensively he was loaded. Then he added McGahee. The phenomenal Drew Brees is having his best season ever and still, no playoffs?? Schmabby lost some tough games ( 2 against me and week one vs Chuck especially) yet was still very much alive. Defense and scheduling matchups did him in, but I cannot believe that roster didn't find a way to even stumble into the playoffs...Im glad I dont have to see him again. He will have plenty of strong options to protect for next year.

Source- the once proud Source packed it in early and often this GFFL season. A wholesale firesale, along with the emergence of DeMarco Murray, leave the coffers overflowing for next year. Mainstay holdover Arian Foster is a protected gem and Sarge is looking at two 2nd rd picks, two 3rd rd picks, two 8th rd picks AND two 10th rd picks!!!! According to my sources at FaceBook, Phil Rivers need not worry about a contract extension from Joe. Ultimately, his defense sucked, his #7 and #10 picks of Rivers and Blount underperformed and he made the worst pick of the entire draft in making Chad Ochocinco his #1 WR ( he also need not worry about an extension). It wasn't meant to be this year, but I must say that DeMarco Murray looks like quite a find.
