2011 GFFL Championship Finals
Well guys, another year has come to an end. And what an exciting end it was. We saw the breakdown in the post before. Colston came close to 127 to help tie the game, but ended up 16 yards short. Bryant got 3 FGs that made the game closer, but Big Willie Style didn't get a single sack. Sproles came up short as well, needing 86 but only getting 67. But thankfully one person did do something so I'm not sitting here telling you that the game is tied at 97 total points and Joe D gets a ring by being a higher seed. Dunta comes through in the final week after doing practically nothing all season long. Who would have thought?
So, the final breakdown is as follows.
Joe D
QB 24
RB 28
WR 21
K 3
DEF 28
Total 104
Peter
QB 14
RB 28
WR28
K3
P3
DEF 21
Total 97
For a final score of
JOE D 55
Peter 48
Congrats to Joe D on his first GFFL Championship. Solidifying his return next year to defend it.
As to future league news and events, be prepared for a Summer Summit for all owners to attend. A fine cookout, a gathering of minds, and the current and future state of the GFFL. Currently the third weekend in June is being looked at. Check your calendars and see if this is a problem. Until then, enjoy your offseason and get ready for the next.

This is what Championships are made of...
Well League, here we are. One game away.
And I have it all broken down for you. All with the exception of any stat corrections of course. But it was Matthews that got that pick.
So without further ado....
As I texted both guys are even on defense and both are getting 3 extra points from guys with foot specialties. After that the similarities end.
First we have to just say that any defensive play will blow this puppy up. Currently they both have 4 sacks, so the next one would only be worth 3 points. They would need a second to make it 7.
Currently, Joe D has 24 points coming from his QB. He's got 332 yds from Rice, Lynch and Gore giving him 28, and 295 from his RBs, Macklin, and Gronkowski giving him 21 at the WR.....for a grand total of...
QB 24
RB 28
WR 21
K 3
DEF 21
Total Points 97
(future hint...notice i didn't mention back up with Joe??)
Peter is trickier. Damn Newton.
CURRENTLY.... Freeman is starting with 14.
At running back he has Bradshaw, Mendenhall, (Freeman), and Peterson back-up giving him 305yds, or 28 points.
At WR he has Cruz, Moore, Witten, and RBs giving him 385yds for 28 points. For a grand total of ....
QB 14
RB 28
WR 28
P 3
K ?
DEF 21
Total points 94.
So, here is where it gets all matrix-like.
Joe doesn't have his back-up stat in because it currently doesn't matter for him. Johnson at best gave him an extra 46 as a backup, but that only got Joe to 341, needing 19 more yards.
But he does have the option with his running backs with Sproles still out there. Currently Joe is banging down 332, with the next scoring at 375. Do the math ( shout out to Alien).
375-332= 43. BUT THAT IS BACK UP STATS, so Joe needs 86 from sproles and he would be his backup and net him another 7 points at the RB position.
AS FOR PETER....
As i said before, FREEMAN is starting currently, BUT, NEWTON is sitting there with 80 yards rushing and Peter has one more person out there, COLSTON.
It is possible that if COLSTON bags down 127 yards, he could shake this whole thing up.
(don't think so?? jones came close tonight at 110.)
If this were to happen...THEN..
NEWTON would start with 10 points.
RB Mendenhall, Bradshaw and NEWTON giving him 325, or 28 points.
WR Cruz (194), COLSTON (127), Witten (24), R.M. (35), A.B. (8) will give him 388. And if we have MOORE as the backup, half of 124 is 62. 62 + 388 = 450. giving him 35 at the WR. What this would all look like is...
QB 10
RB 28
WR 35
P 3
K ?
DEF 21
Total points 97... Yes, only 97. A friggin' tie if nobody does anything on defense and his kicker misses everything. But I don't think that can happen...
SO, WHERE ARE WE YOU MATH NERD???? JUST GIVE ME THE BREAK DOWN!!!
Currently Joe D is up 97 to 94.
Peter has a kicker left, a sack man, and a WR.
Joe D has a RB, a sack man and a pick guy.
If peter's WR gets 127, he's tied with Joe D.
If Joe D gets 86 yards from his RB he's up by 10.
If either guy gets one sack, it helps them by 3. A second would be 7. Half sacks are only a point.
If BOTH happen, Joe D is still up by 3 and Peter better hope for a sack and a FG.
So, now you know what to watch for tomorrow night. And both offensive guys will suck, there will be no field goals, and will smith will be the only guy getting a sack. Thus making the game a tie and Joe D winning from homefield. Lame, I know, but what can you do?
Hopefully one of these last guys will go gangbusters and make my job a lot easier...
Congrats if you followed this message to the end and understood all the math...
You are next in line as the Commish of 2012.

Semifinals Final Scores
Well kiddos, the first round of playoffs are done. What an exciting week. It all came down to a Monday Night game, the way it should be.
Without further ado.
Tim vs. Peter
While Tim had a 3 point advantage against him, he was the favorite for this game, with a high powered offense and one of the healthiest teams in the league. That is until Jennings went down. Suggs came up with a goose egg for him on Sunday Night, and Big Ben turned into a Big dud. If Ben could have only run for one more yard, (instead of the ZERO he had), Tim would have had another 7 points to at least make this game look respectable. But Ben could only pick up a 7 point gain for Tim instead of 14, and with a weak defensive showing, his dance was short lived. The breakdown is as follows.
Tim 47 Offense, 17 Defense
Peter 50 Offense, 24 Defense, +7 TD from Israel, +3 HFA.
Final score
Peter 43
Tim 23
Chuck vs. Joe D
Chuck was leading going into tonight's Monday Night game. He dodged a bullet once with Ray Rice doing diddly poo for Joe on Sunday Night. Could he dodge it again with Frank Gore. Sure, Gore only ran for 90 yards. Not good enough to start or make a scoring difference. But championships are not made on Monday Night. They just come to fruition. They are planted in week 2, getting a extra RB named Sproles. They are planted in week 6, getting a conehead defensive guy from the west coast. And it was this said conehead that had Joe sweating until the later part of the game. We don't know what was said on the sidelines, and we don't know if we care. But what we do know is that whether Joe gave him the same medication Ryan Braun is using, or some great Lombardi quotes, Aldon Smith stepped up big and grabbed a victory away from Chuck in the final minutes of the game tonight. With 2.5 sacks, (and maybe 3 after the stat corrections after looking at the highlights) Smith solidified Joe D's appearance in the 2011 GFFL Championship Game. And Chuck, who has successfully upset the higher seed in the past, will have to wait for next year to give it a go again. Even though Wallace is credited with a safety on the books, and there is no scoring on the big board, in our game it doesn't matter due to Smith's stats. Joe went from 3.5 sacks, to 6 sacks. taking away 21 points. Here is the breakdown.
Chuck 77 offense, 24 defense
Joe D 82 offense, 21 defense, +3 HFA. (not including wallace's safety at the moment. need to review)
Final Score
Chuck 56
Joe D 61
So, that sets the stage for next week's 2011 GFFL Championship Game!!!
Joe D will be hosting Peter J for the title.
As we all know, there is no HFA in the Title game, but a tie would result in a Joe D victory with him being the higher seed. So, there is a built in +1 for the higher seed.
Early predictions in Vegas have Joe D as the favorite as the winner of the Triple Crown and Peter in shambles on defense. But, maybe this is finally the week that AP and CJ2K actually do what they were supposed to do all season long. Either way, it will be one interesting game, with someone having a nice Christmas present under the tree.
And the team that would have been in this game if they were in the playoffs this week but are on the sidelines??
Joe A with an impressive 132 total points scored would have beat anybody this week. Even Joe D with a freak safety. Good luck and sweet dreams.

Semifinals Scoring Update!!!
Well boys, we are ten minutes away from Sunday Night deciding a few things. And Monday is PrimeTime for others to steal games away. Without delay, here we go...
Tim vs. Peter
This game will come down to Big Ben and T-Sizzle for Tim. Currently they are both getting ten point out of the QB, and 35 out of their offenses. Peter still has Mendenhall, and if he does well, could help him out and bump up the offense to 42. He needs a decent game though to beat Peterson's 60. Rashard goes for 110 yards, look out Tim. Edwards is unlikely to help out, but he is still playing Monday Night. The big bullet that Tim needs to avoid is Peter's defense, which still has 3 guys going and they are not little names. Tonight we see Reed and Jammer, tomorrow Harrison. Peter is currently taking away 24 points on defense, with Israel getting lucky off of a Peppers sack solidifying a good showing. So with the 7 point TD, the 7 point differential on defense, the 3 point home field advantage and winning the punter battle, Tim is currently down by 20 points. Peter racking up 84 total points at the moment, and Tim with 64. Tim needs to see T-Sizzle get 3 sacks if he wants to compete, or have Big Ben go for over 390 yards to come close in this one. Good luck on Monday night. Maybe you have a shot if Big Ben's dad passes away or something. ( Farve!)
Chuck vs Joe D
Could we have another wild team entering into the Championship Game again??? It seems to look that way.
Defense is the difference in this game that is currently being waged. Chuck is taking away 24 points to only 11 for Joe D. Both have some players left, but will it be enough for Joe? Cason and the Smiths are going to have to produce tonight for Joe, if they don't he could make it up on offense but that is tougher. Stafford, McCoy and even Sproles are helping Joe get 28 from his QB and 49 on RB/WRs. Rackers edged out Crosy and Masthay had a punting average of 53.4, which could get Joe another 3 points. Brady did well in giving Chuck the solid 21, and thanks to Bush, Moore and Graham, Chuck was able to mount 56 at the RB/WR. Is that you Tolbert??? He could rumble his way into a starting position and help Chuck get some breathing room, but most importantly ( really?) is Scifres. If he can beat 53.4, that makes the HFA joe hold null and void. And look out for the Monday Night Magic of Woodley and Palamalu. Usually injured, but if they go and have any stats, that will help Chuck distance himself on the takeaways. Big guns for Joe D are on offense with Rice, Gore, Wallace, Jackson and Gates. While this game is too close to declare a winner, the current scores are Chuck getting 101 total points and Joe D getting 93.
And the one guy on the sidelines that wishes he was playing this week??
The guy with: Brees, Benson, Marshall, White, Finley, Hali, Abraham, Brock, Samuel, Hall, and Turner.
I believe this team would have beaten anybody this week, with or without Andy Lee.
Better luck next year buddy.
Will try to give an update after tonight's game.

Week 14 Finals Next stop, playoffs!!
Well League, here we are. The end of another season. One of the craziest yet, both on and off. We will address some of the off field issues after the on field disputes have been completed. What am I talking about?? The Playoffs!! Playoffs??!!!
So, below are the regular season final stats. Congrats to the final four teams that have made it, and especially Joe D with the Triple Crown Award. Top spot in Total Points, Total Offense, and Total Defense.
As for the 2011 GFFL Playoffs, the match-ups are in the upper box. We have Chuck marching into Joe D's arena and Peter playing host to newcomer Tim. Both home teams have defeated their guests in both regular season games, and with the higher seed given a +1 already, the home teams have a total of +3 points as the Home Field Advantage. This is indicated on the side of the Home Teams.
But will this matter?? Ask the bottom team for the year, who limped into the playoffs last year, went up against a +3 homefield advantage, and walked away at the end of the season with the Championship!!
Could it happen again?? Well, if Week 14's total points were any indication, it very well might. (Chuck-121, Tim-102, Joe D-96, Peter-94)
As for those not making the playoffs. Well, it seems injuries and bad timing of schedule have done you all in. But isn't that the case every year?? Well, not for newcomer Joe K, who is missing the playoffs for only the third time in franchise history.
So, without further ado, here are the stats.

Week 12 Finals
Well, finally caught up, but no real surprises here.
Again, thanks to the league for their patience or lack of enthusiasm.
So the playoff field is all but set. Joe D will clinch the top spot with a victory this week. Even with two losses and two Peter victories, Peter would have to outscore Joe D on the total points to claim the number one seed. Mathematical: Yes. Realistic: No.
This leads us to the 4th seed, as both Peter and Tim, a newcomer to the playoffs, both have post season secured on their schedule.
BJ is clinging to dear live with an easy schedule, but Chuck has it even easier. Chuck clinches a playoff berth with a victory against Joe K this week. Yet a loss, and a BJ victory against Willie (which is a struggle itself) would lead to a showdown of mathematical probabilities again. A Chuck win versus BJ, or even a close loss, still grants him the post season. BJ would have to run the table, have Chuck lose this week, and beat Chuck by enough points to pass him in total points. Again. Mathematical: Yes. Realistic: HELL NO!!!
Willie, Joe K and Joe A are eliminated and licking their wounds getting ready for the G.I.T.
Next week, we will revisit head to head games of the playoff teams.
Until then, here are the stats.

Week 10 Preliminary Stats
Well, well, well. Let the grumbling begin. TWO HUGE ONE POINT GAMES!!!!
Hold your breath people...if the score changes, we will not have a showdown of showdowns next week for the final playoff spot.
As we look at this up and coming week, it's quite clear that both Willie and Joe K are fighting for last place. Hey Joe, let me know which dude you are going to tank so I can pick him up on the waiver. Is that open air enough of the collusion you think happens behind the scenes Tim???
Anyways, after this week, we should see some people CLINCHING playoff berths. Until then, do a quick check on wednesday Joe D and Chuck at myfantasyleague.com to see if something changed that can give you a victory. Otherwise, you got some people still breathing down your necks.
Here are the preliminary stats for Week 10.

Week 9 Preliminary Finals
Well, well, well....maybe if the Bears were on MNF every week, we'd have the scores done this early!!
Here are the PRELIMINARY scores. As you will see, there are a few that are SUPER CLOSE. And a stat change could sway it EITHER WAY. So before the texting storm happens...ask Schmabby and Chuck what stat changes can do.
With that said, here is the update.
QUICK REMINDER!!!
THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BEGINS!!!!
So Waiver Wire claims get bumped up. I'll let the other commish alert you to the deadline he has.
