Week 2 Round Up
So, Week 2 brings on some excitement and added problems.
Joe K 93 vs Joe D 75
Well, the Champ played host to the team with the most draft picks this week, and what a knock down drag 'em out it was. With both teams posting record highs in offense, defense really made the gap happen here. The real difference here was Manning's 540, reminding people of Favre's great performance on Monday night against Oakland that got Beesch the Championship against Peter. But I digress...
With the Champ starting out 0-2, we are wondering if there might be a waiver claim in the near future to shake things up. We shall see. He should have an easier matchup this week against the ailing Joe A. Joe K on the other hand...
Willie 61 vs Todd 38
In our other road victory, Willie helped cement the stigma of the "Team 8" position that Todd is trying so hard to destroy. Granted, Willie did win a Championship, but so did Taco. Even with Chuck guidance (distraction?) on game dame to help with defense, it wasn't enough for Todd to hold off Willie. An interesting side note in this game. I believe this is a GFFL FIRST!!! BOTH teams had a RB start that had 0 or BELOW RUSHING YARDS!!! Goodsen raked in 113 yds receiving, but -6 rushing. Sproles didn't even register a rush, but bagged 128 WR Yards. In the end, Willie's WR were too much for Todd and again Willie stated he is not the worst in the league, just the second worst. Willie looks to keep momentum going against Peter next week, as BJ tries to protect his picture behind the sixth grade door from Todd and his upstart crew.
Joe A 61 vs Chuck 77
Chuck capitalized with a TD edge on defense and WR to keep pace at the top of the league. Unfortunately for Joe A, his woes continue. Perhaps its time to get a new guy on defense for Joe?? Whatever he decides, he has a good chance to get a victory. Well, at least somebody will, with Joe facing the bloodied Champ next week. As for Chuck......
BJ 18 vs Peter 35
BJ marched into Peter's house much like the Bears did for Green Bay. He continues to get bitchslapped and handed his ass on the way back to his camp. And this trip was very hurtful. Literally. Forte and Bradshaw both go down for him. Charles is nowhere to be found. And Turner...well, he just said he wants to play for Willie with the other felons. Will Beesch be making his second Waiver Claim in as many weeks?? We shall see!! Peter on the other hand has issues at RB as well. But if his defense performs the way they did this week, he could bench everybody and still win. Peter had 46 points to take away, and that sent BJ packing. Peter looks to take this momentum on the road to Willie, while BJ scrambles to defend his turf from the trash talking rookie.
GAME OF THE WEEK!!!
Joe D vs Joe A
Somebody will get a win.... ha just kidding!!
CHUCK vs JOE K
HERE ARE THE BIG GUNS!!!!
Two undefeated teams collide HEAD TO HEAD and look to take SOLE POSSESSION of first place!!
AFTER THIS IT IS A FOOTRACE TO CATCH THE LEADER!!
Good Luck Gentlemen!!!

WEEK 2 WAIVER CLAIMS:
ReplyDelete1) Peter claimed CHI WR Alshon Jeffery for JAX RB Rashad Jennings
2) Bj claimed CHI DT Henry Melton for CLE DB Joe Haden
GFFL POWER RANKINGS
ReplyDelete1) Source: a no brainer at this point, The Source has beaten two tough opponents who happen to have good games as well. Winning games in different ways ( pick 6 last week, Eli this week ) which suggests a well balanced roster. Ch-Ch-Championship??
2) Charlie: Charles was vulnerable this week but a win is a win and the bottom line is he is 2-0. As long as Cj Spiller and Ridley keep producing Chuck has got the horses to ride all the way this year. Week 2 vs Joe K will be a big in determining playoff positioning. Its week 2 but Im confident in both these teams staying power.
3) Todd: The rankings are determined by a number of factors of merit, so Todd gets the boost based on RB production. GFFL titles arent won with stumblebums at RB, and as BJ mentioned Peter and Bj have concerns at that position more so than Todd.
4) Peter: This team took a number of calculated gambles in the draft based on the dearth of quality RB's available ( Spiller, Ridley and Morris werent on anybodys wish list ). AP, one QB and defense early and often come to mind. With AP on a pitch count and Chris Johnson a shell of his former self one has to wonder about the staying power of this team. Closer to 2-0 than 0-2, but an unknown at this point.
5) Bj: Week 2 was the polar opposite of week 1 for The Beesch, both NFL and GFFL, and Bj is suddenly scrambling. His lack of depth or star power at WR only works if his RB's are performing and right now they are banged up. With a vengeful Todd followed by the powerful Chuck, the next 2 weeks loom large for The Beesch.
ReplyDelete6)Joe D: after EVERYTHING lined up perfectly for Joe last year, thru 2 games this year it couldn't feel any different. An underwhelming defense is the root cause of the problem, but he ran into some crazy-good production from his first 2 opponents...the GFFL can be a cold and cruel place sometimes. Better than 0-2, but now is the time to show it.
7) Willie: in a good place after 2 weeks and has a pretty good team I think. His roster has star power and all those WR's. Since the days of Lito Sheppard, whether his team was good or bad, Willie has been a thorn in Peter's side. This week 3 matchup will go a long way in establishing the direction these teams are going.
8) Schmabby: Poor Wiggum...he hasnt budged from this spot in 3 weeks now but seeing Trent Richardson have a great game is a very encouraging sign! His defense really let him down this week in a winnable game. Roster shakeup? Waiver claim? Schmabby needs this win over Joe D or the season is in danger of slipping away.
GFFL STAR OF THE WEEK: Eli Manning- NY Giants
ReplyDeleteEli provided some eye popping stats this week as 35 from a QB is very hard to contend with.
GFFL DICKHEAD OF THE WEEK: Jay Cutler- Chicago Bears
First he talks smack to The Pack and then he backs it up with whining and crying and interceptions and throwing teammates under the bus?! What a dickhead!! JAY CUTLER WILL NEVER WIN A SUPER BOWL IN CHICAGO...NEVER
