NOTES!!
--Next Week BYES. DET, DAL, OAK,
TB
-- Remember to update your rosters
when Peter texts you the Waiver Claims.
--NEW THIS YEAR!! Numbers in
parenthesis are your weekly total. Now you can bitch about the schedule and
see who you could have beat, even only scoring 91 points. Damn the schedule,
and damn you Willie.
--SO, Todd and Joe D both beat Joe
A, who in turn beat Peter, but Todd and Joe D haven’t played yet, and Peter
hasn’t played any of them either, so those guys go to total points, so what
we’ve got here is, a failure to communicate, oh wait, that was a movie quote.
Name it and get a bonus 3 points. (One of my favorite Newman movies.)
Anyways, Todd and Joe D play each other this week, so that should be fun in
breaking this up.

Cool Hand Luke.
ReplyDeleteWEEK 4 POWER RANKINGS:
ReplyDelete1) Source: Joseph continues to roll on in his quest to win that elusive championship. He has taken on all comers and won some challenging games, all without the aid of DeMarco Murray, save for week one. If and when he starts performing a great team only gets better. Antonio Brown and Torrey Smith's performances have solidified his league best receiving corps. Now he gets a chance to feast on some of the leagues "lesser thans". THE ARROW ON THIS TEAM IS POINTING UP.
2) Charlie: Chuck is living a charmed GFFL season thus far with guys like Ridley, Hartline and Spiller, not exactly household names prior to the season, putting up huge numbers. Can they keep it up is the question?? Brian Hartline almost scored 21 pts himself in wk. 4 which for a WR is out of this world!! Chuck is in a strong position and gets the lowly Peter in week 5 making 4-1 look almost certain. THE ARROW ON THIS TEAM IS POINTING UP.
3) Willie: Earlier in this column I mentioned how crucial McFadden was to Willies success but up to this point he hasn't been great and Willie is 3-1. Some other players have stepped up mightily for Will, Clemons and RG III to name a few, and he has been solid across the board. With that being said, this team is dangerous in that it has 2 players, Rodgers and McFadden, who should only get better. THE ARROW ON THIS TEAM IS POINTING UP.
4) Bj: When this column was released the week before seasons beginning, Bj was ranked #2 and that was before some unknowns, like Bruce Irvin and Alfred Morris, turned out to be highly productive. As of now he has been the most disappointing team. An all or nothing team, he has the look of Schmabbys disappointing 2011 squad. When you compare roster to record the Win/Loss just doesn't add up. I would excuse the Hartline loss to Chuck except that he has had massive numbers in his 2 wins and Source has found ways to win some very challenging games. Will the real Bj please stand up?! THE ARROW ON THIS TEAM IS NEUTRAL.
5) Joe D: Joe lost a heartbreaker to the Source a couple weeks ago, but that game proved to be a snapshot of his season thus far. His defense has been just awful. His Wr's arent that great, but he's strong at QB and the Rice/ McCoy combo is the best in the business. Based on that alone he is the best of the 1-3 riff raff and is still dangerous, but if that defense can't put together a game or two, he can forget the playoffs, the top half is just too tough at this point. THE ARROW ON THIS TEAM IS NEUTRAL.
ReplyDelete6) Todd: By default he is at #6 but his offense doesn't look that good. I'm not sure where the turnaround will come from with Todd? This weeks game against Joe D is a make or break for Todd if he intends on righting the ship. He has lost some tough games where he performed well but the opponent blew up but such is life in the GFFL...good teams win some of those. THE ARROW ON THIS TEAM IS POINTING DOWN.
7) Schmabby: Schmabby finally budges from that bottom bitch spot with a bigtime win against Peter, however the future doesn't look too bright for this season. As of now, the differences between the top 4 and bottom 4 are stark and without Drew Brees being a monster week in and week out I continue to Schmabby lacking enough firepower to keep up. BUT he does get the inconsistent Beesch so perhaps a winning streak looms on the horizon?! THE ARROW ON THIS TEAM IS POINTING DOWN.
8) Peter: The GFFLs most successful franchise of the 21st Century finds itself in unfamiliar territory. A woefully inadequate offense coupled with an uninspiring defense and unproductive waiver claims = SUCKING BALLS. Simply put, I don't see relief in sight. As Rick Pitino famously said when coaching the shitty Celtics at the time, " Larry Bird ain't walking thru the door, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish ain't walking thru that door...we've got to get better from within." I just don't see how. THE ARROW ON THIS TEAM IS POINTING DOWN.
